Restoration in Action

30 April 2025

At Currumbin Eco-Parkland, a remarkable transformation is underway. From a once degraded and overgrazed landscape, the land is being carefully restored into a thriving ecological sanctuary. A place where native biodiversity is returning and resilience is being restored.

The Ecological Restoration Plan is the blueprint for this revival, targeting major environmental threats with precision. Invasive species like Camphor laurel and Cat’s Claw Creeper are being removed giving native vegetation and critical wildlife habitats the chance to recover and flourish while reconnecting vital wildlife corridors and revitalising wetlands, creeks and forests.

The restoration of Currumbin Eco-Parkland has been guided by detailed ecological surveys ensuring that efforts are tailored to the land’s unique features. From open paddocks to rich canopy zones, specialist techniques will breathe new life into every corner of the Parkland.

As the land rehabilitates, visitors will witness a richer, more diverse landscape - a living example of what thoughtful, determined restoration can achieve.

The Currumbin Eco-Parkland Ecological Restoration Plan was prepared by MRA Environmental, Gold Coast Botany and ddwfauna. Read the full plan here.
