The Queensland Government is proud to announce a landmark opportunity to unlock residential development within the vibrant Yeerongpilly Green Riverside mixed-use precinct. This exciting project will also support the future expanded use of the Queensland Tennis Centre and use as a key venue for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) has released two adjacent parcels of land, totalling one hectare, to the market. These prime sites are earmarked for a thriving residential mixed-use development that will enhance and further activate the local area and provide diverse housing solutions.

The sites are ideally located near key landmarks, including the Queensland Tennis Centre, the Brisbane River, the newly upgraded Yeerongpilly Cross River Rail train station, and the Yeerongpilly Green Riverside Village retail centre.


Site Vision and Opportunities

The vision for the sites is to create a thriving, inclusive, and safe community that delivers:

  • Mixed-use and high-density residential opportunities to meet the needs of a growing population.
  • Diverse housing solutions, that could include:
    • Market BTS (Build-to-Sell) housing.
    • Alternative housing options such as Build-to-Rent, aged care, retirement living and student accommodation.
    • Social and/or affordable housing to support community needs.
    • Hotel or short stay accommodation

The site is strategically located near key amenities, including:

  • Yeerongpilly Cross River Rail Station, which reopened in February 2025 following an upgrade, providing improved connectivity.
  • Neighbourhood Retail Centre, featuring a full-line Woolworths supermarket, speciality stores, restaurants and recreation facilities.
  • Queensland Tennis Centre, offering regular recreational activities, international-scale events and serving as a venue for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.


What Happens Next

EDQ has invited industry to participate through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process. This process aims to identify partners who can demonstrate capability and capacity to deliver high-quality, inclusive and well-integrated outcomes for the community in a timely manner.
