Construction Activities: December 2025/January 2026

Welcome to the December 2025/January 2026 Construction Update of the Northshore Hamilton Street Renewal Program (SRP). The first stage of the SRP project will prepare the western end of the precinct (adjacent to Portside Wharf) for six new development lots planned for mixed-use residential development in accordance with the Northshore Hamilton PDA Development Scheme. Construction of the SRP is underway by BMD.

During December and January CAR PARKING CHANGES will take place in the transition from Dock A Car Park to The Yard Car Park. Dock A Car Park will reduce in availability as The Yard Car Park nears completion. Please note the timeline below.

Dock A Car Park

  • The southern section indicated in red on the map below will close from 5:30pm, Monday 15 December 2025 for demolition and preparation works.
  • The remaining section (except for the area adjacent to the EV Chargers) will close from Monday 12 January 2026 to allow for lighting to be relocated to The Yard Car Park.
  • Notices will be placed on vehicles parked overnight from 1 December 2025. If your car receives a notice, please ensure the vehicle is removed before 15 December to avoid towing.
  • EV Charging Stations will remain open and accessible

The Yard Car Park

  • The southern section of The Yard Car Park will open from Friday, 12 December 2025, as indicated in green in the image below.
  • Vehicle access and exit will be via Theodore Street and MacArthur Avenue.
  • Pedestrian access will be via MacArthur Avenue as indicated on the map below.
  • The northern section will open from Monday 12 January 2026.

Please take notice of the signage that will be installed prior to the transition and opening.

The Yard Car Park pedestrian crossing

A new pedestrian crossing will be installed to provide a safe connection between The Yard Car Park and Dock C. It will connect with the existing footpath on the southern side of MacArthur Avenue near Flipside Circus. During the pedestrian crossing installation works, short term traffic changes will be required. Please follow the direction of signage and traffic control for your safety.

Activities across all Work Zones

Demolition and site clearing continues in Stage 1 Work Zone between the Brisbane River and MacArthur Avenue. You may experience an increase in truck and construction vehicle movements in the precinct while this work is being carried out. Current works include:

  • delivery and removal of plant, materials and equipment
  • asphalting and concreting
  • fencing adjustments
  • tree and vegetation removal
  • earthworks
  • service locating.

Other intermittent activities will include:

  • movement of materials and equipment between work zones
  • surveying and service location
  • environmental monitoring
  • earthworks in Stage 2 work zone.

Work impacts

Throughout construction, we will provide notifications of upcoming work. Measures will be in place to monitor our activities and adjust our controls where needed to minimise impact on the community.

  • Traffic detours and changing traffic conditions: may be required near the work zones. For your safety, please follow signage and traffic control directions.
  • Noise, dust and vibration: these construction works will generate noise, dust and vibration.
  • Increased activities: there will be an increase in workforce and construction vehicle movements around the precinct and within the work zones. Equipment in use will include, but is not limited to, excavators, vac trucks, profilers, haulage vehicles, small hand tools, concrete saws, generators, concrete trucks and pumps, water trucks and misting cannons.
  • Utilities and services: construction activities may temporarily impact the supply of utilities and services. We will provide written notice, at least seven (7) days in advance, to properties where service will be disrupted.

Work hours

Construction may occur from:

  • 6.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Thursday
  • 6.30am to 4.00pm Fridays and Saturdays
  • excluding public holidays.

Holiday shutdown period

No construction activities will be occurring over the festive holiday period. This period will commence on Friday, 19 December 2025 and the project team construction activities will recommence on Monday, 5 January 2026.
