Street Renewal update

Construction Activities: May 2026

Welcome to the May 2026 Construction Update of the Northshore Hamilton Street Renewal Program (SRP). BMD is constructing the SRP and will prepare the western end of the precinct (adjacent to Portside Wharf) for six new development lots planned for mixed-use residential development in accordance with the Northshore Hamilton PDA Development Scheme.

Work is progressing in the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Work Zones, with the future roads now taking shape. As May progresses, the focus will remain on underground services, earthwork and site preparation for the next stage of work, the upgrade of MacArthur Avenue between Finnegan Street and Theodore Street.

MacArthur Avenue temporary westbound lane closure, near Flipside Circus

The westbound lane on the section of MacArthur Avenue, between Theodore Street and Cedar Road, will be temporarily closed on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, between 6.30am and 6.00pm. Traffic heading west will be detoured via Cedar Road. The closure is required to safely concrete a new kerb ramp at the pedestrian crossing near Flipside Circus. The pedestrian crossing will be maintained during this work.
