November Construction Activities

Throughout November, works will continue in several key areas of the precinct. This includes progress on construction of the new temporary car park, The Yard, ongoing demolition activities at Dock A Car Park, and modifications at the Wharf Close Temporary Park to accommodate the new riverfront road alignment.

Dock A Car Park – Stage 1 Work Zone

Dock A Car Park will close in December 2025, except for access to the EV charging facilities, which will remain open.

Demolition and site clearing are underway between the Brisbane River and MacArthur Avenue. Further work includes:

  • delivery and removal of plant, materials and equipment, including safe removal of asbestos, asphalt and concrete
  • fencing adjustments
  • tree and vegetation removal
  • earthworks
  • service locating.
  • entry and fencing changes, including installing 2 new entry gates
  • minor vegetation removal to accommodate the new fence line.

Signage will be in place to provide 3 weeks' advance notice of the Dock A Car Park closure. All vehicles must be removed before the closure date.

Wharf Close Temporary Park – Stage 1 Work Zone

From mid-November 2025, adjustments will be made to Wharf Close Temporary Park to facilitate safe construction activities, weather and site conditions permitting.

These adjustments involve:

  • entry and fencing changes, including installing 2 new entry gates
  • minor vegetation removal to accommodate the new fence line.

Existing playground equipment, waste bins, water drinking fountain and tap will remain in place.

The Yard Car Park Work Zone

Construction activities at The Yard will include:

  • delivery and removal of plant, materials and equipment
  • earthworks
  • asphalting and line marking
  • footpath adjustments.

Other activities – across all Work Zones

Other activities will include:

  • movement of materials and equipment between work zones
  • surveying and service locating
  • environmental monitoring
  • earthworks in Stage 2 work zone.

Work impacts

Throughout construction, we will continue to provide notifications of upcoming work, monitor our activities and adjust our controls where needed to minimise impact to the community.

  • Traffic detours: may be required near the work zones. For your safety, please follow signage and traffic control directions.
  • Noise, dust and vibration: these construction works will generate noise, dust and vibration. Measures will be in place to monitor and manage.
  • Increased activities: there will be an increase in workforce and construction vehicle movements around the precinct and within the work zones. Equipment in use will involve, but not be limited to, excavators, vac trucks, profilers, haulage vehicles, small hand tools, concrete saws, generators, concrete trucks and pumps, water trucks and misting cannons.
  • Utilities and services: construction activities may temporarily impact the supply of utilities and services. We will provide written notice, at least seven (7) days in advance, to properties where service will be disrupted.

Work hours

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 6.30am to 6.00pm and Friday and Saturday 6.30am to 4.00pm, excluding public holidays, in accordance with Brisbane City Council work hours.
