Short-term closures: Wharf Street Temporary Park

29 January 2026

Short-term closures at Wharf Street Temporary Park

From Monday, 9 February, works will begin at Wharf Street Temporary Park. These works follow recent community feedback and will involve:

  • installing fencing to create separate areas:
    • constructing a new section of footpath
    • relocating the water drinking fountain and tap.
    • Full closure of the dog area and playground area for up to 4 days from Monday, 9 February 2026, to Friday, 13 February 2026.
    • Partial closure of the playground area until Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

To ensure the safety of park users and construction workers, short-term closures will be required to undertake these works.

The timing and duration of the works are weather and site‑conditions permitting. Notice of closure periods and further updates will be provided via signage on the park fence.

See the image below for details on the work zones.
